    Just 2 minutes from the lighthouse..!

    We traveled to the outer Banks in Jan. We had the pleasure of staying in this Inn. We went during off season to see the lighthouse. I recommend everyone going during off season. It's like you have the whole OBX to yourself. This Inn was amazing! Very clean and they have just about every amenity you could think of. When we checked in we realize we were the only ones at this hotel. It's nice having whole place to yourself peaceful and quiet. The only thing I recommend is that you check in early during off-season. The inn staff usually leave by 5 p.m. this place is located just 2 minutes from cape Hatteras Lighthouse. You can walk or drive over to the lighthouse. We will be going back again this coming winter and we will surely check into this Inn again.

    Impromptu beach trip..

    Was thoroughly pleased with the three nights I spent here! We decided an impromptu beach trip after neglecting to plan for our usual week in a rented house and didn't expect much from our hotel stay. The room was very clean, the bed was rock solid (I always dread hotel stays because of the creaky beds that practically walk across the floor when anyone in them so much as rolls over) and very comfortable. I appreciated that the curtain effectively blocked out the light from the window as I have a hard time sleeping with any light in the room. My son loved the pool and while it was small it was perfect for his swimming ability.

    Beach access is superb!

    I loved this little place. Beach access is superb, my sweetie and I took a dip in the early morning waves and practically had the whole ocean and beach to ourselves right after sunrise. The pool is very nice too. I love that the hotel staff take care of a couple stray island cats. The orange one is particularly friendly (and hungry! Not knowing that they are cared for by staff I went and bought some kitty food and she was all over it!) We are both former North Carolina residents and we'll be back to stay here when we visit home again.

  • Impromptu beach trip..

  • Had a flat tire..

    We had a very comfortable stay in Hatteress inn. Nice location ( very near to beach), really pleasant and clean rooms with cozy beds. Helpful & generous staff. Reception was helpful in directing us to nice restaurants. Unfortunately we had a flat tire the day before check out and due to the long weekend, all the nearby automobile shops were closed. The lady at the reception 'Shelia Allen' was kind enough to ask her husband to help us. Her husband repaired our car for no fee. Despite our best efforts they didn't accept any remuneration. We are extremely grateful to both of them for their help. We would love to be back soon and recommend it too.

  • A very pleasant surprise..

    I've seen three star hotels that were sooo bad, this two star place is certainly a very pleasant surprise. Price is very good, rooms very clean, not smelly or otherwise giving off a negative impression. Noise of Air conditioning acceptable for light sleepers - that particular point is highly critical to me. It's a 3-5 minute walk to the beach, for people needing lots of supplies this could be an issue.

  • Newly remodeled

    Great place to stay in Buxton, it's nothing fancy but the rooms are clean and look to be newly remodeled. The pool was nice and it's got beach access pretty close to the hotel. The prices are reasonable too. I would definitely stay again and would recommend it too.
